Zirconia in Implant Dentistry

ΠΕΡΙΛΗΨΗ
Zirconia use has been steadily increasing in the field of oral implantology. Higher esthetic demands and a growing interest for metal-free restorations has led to several zirconia implant brands in the market, while zirconia abutments’ use is also expanding. With regards to final prosthetic restorations, zirconia-ceramic single and multiple-unit fixed dental prostheses are becoming increasingly popular in daily practice and the same is true for full arch reconstructions. Goal of the presentation is to present the current status of zirconia as a restorative material in oral implantology as well as provide some guidance on when and how to use it to achieve predictable results with minimal complications.
