Abstract:
The session is intended to educate the participants on the terminology, the clinical relevance and the management of furcation involvement in daily practice. At the end of the lecture each participant can:
• Discuss the anatomical features of multi-rooted teeth and their clinical significance as relates to furcation involvement.
• Describe the main classification systems for furcation involvement and discuss the diagnostic methods and their limitations.
• Review the predictability and long-term outcomes of non-surgical and surgical approaches in furcation management.
