Orthodontic-prosthodontic management of missing permanent teeth

Abstract
Missing permanent teeth including maxillary lateral incisors is a common orthodontic problem that poses esthetic and functional challenges especially in growing patients. The combined orthodontic-prosthodontic management of missing permanent teeth will be discussed; and various definitive and temporary/transitional treatment options will be presented. Currently available evidence regarding the potential role of mini-screw implant-supported pontics for the transitional management of missing lateral incisors in growing patients will be reviewed. Challenging cases illustrating the combined orthodontic-prosthodontic management of missing permanent teeth will be presented.
